Strolling Through The Zoo

A little bit ago we went to the Nashville Zoo with a friend who has a little girl. It was a really warm day and all the animals were out and lounging. Zara was content to just be in her stroller and even took a nap.

Sleeping through the giraffes...
Enjoying the petting zoo.
A quick pic with the flamingos, it was sunny!
The elephants were her favorite :)

Stopping for a quick snack.

Tuckered out!

Utah!

A little while back we headed out west to Utah for Devan's High School Graduation. I had never been to an outdoor graduation. Probably because I am from Oregon also known as the land of rain. It was really neat! They had all the students on the football field and then we all sat in the bleachers. I can't we both have brothers who have graduated, they were so little when we got married!

This is Maddie. She was one of our flower girls when we got married. Now she is almost in Young Woman's!  The first day we were in Oakley she stopped by to see Zara. She is the sweetest, in between telling us about her summer and fishing, horses and the pigs she is raising for 4H she rocked my baby to sleep. It was awesome, I wish I could teleport her to Nashville to babysit!

This was at Devan's graduation. If you look closely in the background you can see a long line of boys and girls. They each got to walk down the track on the own and we would clap for everyone. The boys wore green and the girls wore white which was cool. Zara was pretty good the whole time, she cried a lot during the national anthem. I think it was just a little bit too loud.

The happy graduate and Zara.

Grandmas can always get babies to sleep, anywhere, anytime!

Uncle Devan, who is going to be an Aggie!!! Yay!

Hanging out with Grandpa on the porch.

Auntie Kassie keeping Zara entertained.

We went to this really great Aquarium! They had tons of great sea life, next time we go to Utah I guess they will have an even bigger and better one built to replace the one we went too. Zara LOVED watching all the fish.

After we went to the aquarium we stopped by Grandma and Grandpa Walkenhorst's grave site.  It was such a beautiful day and many of the grave sites had flowers for Memorial Day. We sat there for a while and talked about Grandma and Grandpa and then headed home. We had a lot of fun driving through the Avenues. Dad even found a house that him and his Dad used to landscape for when he was a kid.

Zara got to meet her Great Grandpa and Grandma Lott and a few of her Aunts and cousins. It is always so fun getting together with family. Mom, Me and Zara had fun working in the kitchen making food for Devans graduation party, chop, chop, chop!

Four generations of Walkenhorsts

This is Zara's cousin who is just a little bit older then her. We were cracking up because we sat them on the chair and Celisity wasn't too happy about it and Zara just sat there soaking it all in.

Happy Graduation Devan! We Love You!

Nashville Sounds

Nashville has a baseball team that is not a major league team and they are called the Sounds. I guess that is an appropriate name for a musical city's baseball team. About a month ago they had a "Mormon Night", the ticket lady that gave us our tickets didn't know it was Mormon night though, awkward! I asked her, "Is there a discount for Mormon Night?" And she said "What are you talking about?" So I guess it was an incognito Mormon Night where all the people with season passes wonder where all these young guys in suits came from and why are there a billion gazillion kids running around?

It was pretty fun, we met some friends from our ward there and sat near 3rd base. Zara fell asleep half way through which was a miracle considering that the place was crazy loud. We tried a funnel cake that had wayyyy too much powered sugar on it and we got it all over our clothes but it was worth it! I'm pretty sure we lost the game but we left before the game ended so I'm not really sure.
