Four Months Old

Today Zara Mae turned four months old. 

We celebrated by going to see the doctor so that she could get a few shots. She weighs 13 pounds 12 ounces and is 26 inches long. 

Here are some things that she is doing right now at four months old. She started to roll in her crib and sleep on her tummy. She is getting really talented with her binky, she can find it if it's close and put in her mouth on her own. She likes to chew on anything that is with in reach. We put a mirror on the headrest in front of her in the car and she loves to look at herself and talk to herself while we are driving. She is getting more and more giggly but we still can't figure out what triggers it so we just do silly things a lot to try and get a giggle out of her. 

She loves to be in the swimming pool. I think she finally figured out the whole stranger thing because lots of times if we hand her to someone she starts wailing, it also kind of makes us feel special though because she stops crying when they had her back to us. :)

She finally has a pretty consistent morning and afternoon nap schedule which is great. She's reaching for things and it actually looks like it's on purpose now. One of her favorite things is the baby on the wipes bag, she will find the bag whenever I'm changing her diaper and stare at it or grab it so it makes a crinkling sound. 

We left her with a real babysitter last night so that we could go on our real first date. We went downtown to watch our friend play at The Listening Lounge, the way they do it is there are four musicans on the stage at a time and they all take turns playing a song. A couple of them write songs together and sing together which is cool. It was a great night with friends and we had some really yummy bbq nachos. The sitter said Zara did pretty good and only cried a few times so that was good to hear.  

She really likes it when we sing songs to her, she doesn't even care if we get all the lyrics right :) Church is getting better ever since we figured out that if we wake her up really early around 6 am she has time to take a nap before we go to church and everything is wayyy better. The picture on the left below is my favorite because she does this face a lot and it cracks me up every time, she sticks her lower lip out really far and makes this really funny smiley face.
